01. About Me
I'm a software engineer at MathWorks, where I work on the Optimization Toolbox. I studied Mathematics and Computer Science at UMass Amherst, graduating summa cum laude, and spent a year doing research software work at the Center for Astrophysics at Harvard & Smithsonian.
Outside of work, I'm usually playing chess, watching movies, dialing in a shot of espresso, or losing at bowling and minigolf.
02. Experience
Building and maintaining software for the Optimization Toolbox, helping engineers and researchers solve complex optimization problems in MATLAB.
Part of MathWorks' Engineering Development Group (EDG), a rotational program for early-career engineers. Gained broad exposure across teams and product areas before joining the Optimization team full-time.
Undergraduate Course Assistant
Manning College of Information & Computer Sciences, UMass AmherstAmherst, MA · Part-time
Course assistant for Introduction to Algorithms (COMPSCI-311). Supported students through office hours, grading, and conceptual guidance on algorithm design and analysis.
Contributed to open-source scientific software for plasma physics research. Co-authored the PlasmaPy 0.8.1 release (published Jul 2022).
